Poem 21 : Love and War

Stallions rode by knights
Steered into the enemy line
With pike men running
Ahead, all in a war cry.

Amongst them roared
A young prince
In the gleaming armor
 Riding to save his motherland.

Unsheathing his sword
His eyes glared
At the marching enemies
And their riding knights.

Then, They clashed
Like a thunder of
A stormy rain
Metals clanked and clanked again.

Amidst the chaos
Rode our prince
Swinging his blade
As the blood spilled with each blow.

 As the day passed
And lives killed,
Enemies frightened and spattered,
battle was already won.

Far away, in the breezy
Meadows stood the
Longing princess
Staring at the falling sun.

As air twirled past her
Silken hairs, Tears came
From her moist eyes
With a ghostly silence to follow.

Then came the pompous
Day with marching troops
Along the crowded streets
Men back in their homeland.

As the news flew
Into her waiting ears,
She ran like
a fire set ablaze.

Then they met
in their Old magical place
They couldn’t wait
To embrace each other again.

Their stood on the tired stallion
The war laden Prince
With cuts and blood
Back from the chaos of war.

As the morning rays
Touched her blossomed face
She smiled with his warm embrace
As if the heavens had come alive.
